(Jalandhar to Amritsar) 49kms NH1

Promoting the Infinite Business Potential

IVRCL is proud to have acquired prestigious Jallandhar- Amritsar Tollways Limited, BOT project from National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) in June 2005. The project involves widening and strengthening a 49 kms stretch of an existing 2-lane road into a 4-lane dual carriageway on NH1 between Jalandhar and Amritsar.

Jalandhar is a city with burgeoning business activity. It is the nucleus of the sports goods industry in Punjab and has about 90% of the total sports goods units of the State. It is also known for producing quality auto parts and there are 300 units engaged in their manufacture. Acclaimed for its rubber goods, there are 625 units with many of them engaged in export. Besides which, Jalandar is a prime producer of Hand Tools like spanners, screw drivers etc, with more than 50 units manufacturing these goods. The district is also famous for the manufacture of high quality surgical instruments. Jalandhar is home to a massive tanning industry with allied units spread across the district. Bawa Skins is an important export house of Jalandhar.. The fast growing city is well connected by road and train, with the nearest Airport being Raja Sansi Airport, Amritsar at a distance of 90 kms.

Amritsar is the holy city of the Sikhs and is the spiritual and cultural centre of the Sikh Religion. It is also home to the famous Golden Temple. As one of the most ancient and fascinating cities of India, it is the gateway for travelers coming to India by overland route form Central Asia. Wagah is the only road border crossing between India and Pakistan and lies on the Grand Trunk Road between the cities of Amritsar, India and Lahore, Pakistan. Each evening there is a retreat ceremony held here called 'lowering of the flags', an energetic parade by the Border Security Force (B.S.F) of India and the Pakistan Rangers soldiers. Over 8000 people visit the border on an average day just on the Indian side, hence governments have started developing Wagah as a tourist destination. The Indian government plans to develop a global tourist complex here. With booming tourist and traveler influx, the roadways hold high importance here.

IVRCL’s Project Highway is one of the important sections of NH1 in Punjab and carries both local and interstate traffic. IVRCL with is proud history of project development and service delivery, is all set to enhance the immense business and tourism potential of the region, providing world class highway infrastructure, making yet another landmark contribution towards building a new India.
